A goal of the Bright Sparks Program is to attract and retain the most gifted scientific talent. The Scholarship Stipend serves to achieve this goal by addressing some of the distinct challenges which some students encounter.
One such circumstance is the student's inability to secure funding in time to commence a PhD program.
There are many valid reasons why this occasionally occurs.
This Scholarship Stipend ($22,000) is a one-time award offered for the course of one year only. After which, the recipient is obliged to secure alternate funding arrangements to continue with their studies.
A sponsored stipend also allows us the opportunity to bring in a particularly gifted young international scientist to Melbourne.
The circumstances and promise of this student are carefully evaluated and considered by the RTEC Committee before such a grant is awarded.
Investment: $22,000 per annum
The awarding of a Scholarship Stipend enables us to recruit and retain the most gifted scientific talent at the earliest stage of a scientist’s career.
Recipients of the Scholarship Stipend are given the opportunity to take the first major steps in their chosen career of scientific discovery and innovation.
Our commitment to Scholarship Stipend supporters:
Scholarships are a significant component of our strategic plan and are one of our major priorities.
