Education programs for people with diabetes

Supermarket Tours

Supermarket tours

Making healthy food choices is an essential part of managing diabetes and improving health and wellbeing. Grocery shopping can be challenging, especially given the quantity and variety of foods on our supermarket shelves. However, with the right knowledge and skills, choosing healthy foods can be made easy.

Baker IDI's experienced dieticians conduct supermarket tours for people with diabetes and their families.

On these tours you will learn how to read and interpret nutrition information panels and ingredients lists on a food label, and how to differentiate between terms like low fat, reduced fat, lite, salt reduced and no added sugar.

Upon completion of the hour and a half tour you should feel confident about selecting healthy food alternatives.
