Baker IDI Perspectives Forum: Where do our medicines come from and why does it matter?

15 February, 2012

To understand where medicines come from and gain an insight into the long and often complex journey of development from discovery through to clinical trials, approval and production, we ask two highly respected leaders in Australia's medicines industry to lift the lid on pharmaceuticals.

We will examine the unique challenges currently facing the Australian medicines industry. These include an unprecedented wave of patent expiries; the unfolding impact of the Global Financial Crisis and the effect of emerging new global markets on Australian research, biotechnology, clinical trials and pharmaceutical organisations.

You are invited to a discussion with:

Dr Brendan Shaw
Chief Executive of Medicines Australia

and

Professor Lloyd Sansom AO
Emeritus Professor, Division of Health Sciences, University of South Australia
