17 May, 2016

The “Health Matters” public lecture series aims to engage with the public via educational talks and inspire them to take action towards better health.

The next free public lecture in the "Health Matters" series will be:

What is my risk of a heart attack? | Tuesday 17 May 2016

Baker IDI Director, Professor Tom Marwick, who is a cardiologist and cardiovascular researcher, will discuss preventative measures and practical tips that could save you from a heart attack.

Professor Marwick’s discussion will follow a screening of The Widowmaker, a documentary that uncovers a conspiracy of silence around the most vulnerable of human organs – the heart.  This film won the Mass Impact Award at the Boston Film Festival2014.  It will change the way you think about heart disease and it just might save your life.
